El Pollo Loco is an L.A. mainstay and cultural benchmark that has grown into more than 480 restaurants across 6 states over the past four decades. They provide customers with fresh and innovative L.A. Mex—from their famous family dinners to Mexican entrées.
Vitro is an award-winning creative agency offering full service advertising and marketing capabilities. Based in San Diego with satellite offices in NYC and Austin, Vitro employs top creative talent and is 100+ employees strong.
Vitro was tasked with the El Pollo Loco site redesign and asked Oshyn to collaborate on the front-end implementation. The timeline was tight, and Vitro needed a partner they could trust in a quick time frame. Vitro’s project manager said to Oshyn, “I'd rather work with your team on this one because we need a team we can trust with such a tight turnaround“.
Oshyn provided a specialized team well-versed in HTML/SCSS, Foundation 6, and the Google Maps API. Based on an initial, high-level evaluation, the team was assembled using two front-end developers, one QA analyst, and a project manager. The team reviewed the documentation of the existing El Pollo Loco site and built a plan based on sprints while making sure everything aligned with Vitro’s plan.
Throughout the project, the Oshyn team worked closely with Vitro and ably made adjustments as priorities and tasks shifted.
The combination of early planning, early training, tackling complex tasks first, and asking for early feedback as soon as features were built ensured that the project ran smoothly. Ultimately, a great-looking site with a great user experience was delivered on-time, in just over a month. After the project Vitro’s project manager said, “Oshyn was the best dev team I have ever worked with!!”.
