Oshyn upgrades Sitecore for a Major East Asian luxury hospitality chain to ensure compliance and mainstream support.

The Challenge

Whether guests are seeking tropical escapes, urban retreats, or iconic landmarks on their travels, Minor Hotels delivers experiences that blend local character with global comfort.

For travelers dreaming up their next getaway, having an intuitive and responsive digital experience means they can explore, compare, and book confidently, no matter where they are in the world.

Unfortunately, Minor Hotels had been running an outdated version of Sitecore, so patches and maintenance would no longer be available. When they needed assistance upgrading and maintaining their DXP solution, they turned to Oshyn to help them.

The Solution

Minor Hotels selected Oshyn because of its history of performing large-scale upgrades of complex Sitecore systems and its bulletproof upgrade process.

Oshyn built a modern CI/CD infrastructure using Azure DevOps to support the latest Sitecore version, simplify the upgrade process, and ensure the new Sitecore solution adhered to best practices. This would also speed up time-to-market for new features.

The team then upgraded Minor Hotels from Sitecore XM 8.2 to 10.2, building 10 sites (including five brand websites in 11 languages). Oshyn integrated Sabre SynXis and GHA Discovery for hotel bookings and migrated large-scale analytics data to the new DXP, while maintaining the feature-rich destination user experience that Minor’s customers expect from premium brands.

The five hotel brand websites were regression-tested to ensure that all functions continued to perform without any degradation in revenue performance. The new sites were built using Azure PaaS cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability across a global footprint. WAF and CDN were key pieces of infrastructure configured to make the sites secure, performant, and compliant. Docker containerization was introduced to improve developer productivity and maintainability, and reduce long-term costs for Minor Hotels.
