#### Oshyn consolidates a major Canadian bank's family of brands onto one AEM platform.

## The Challenge

Canadians turn to the same family of brands to finance a home, grow their savings, take out a personal loan, or open a credit card, often without realizing it. Many customers know the brand on the screen in front of them, but not necessarily the bank behind it. Together, Fairstone, Home Trust, Oaken Financial, and Eden Park make up Fairstone Bank, Canada's leading alternative lending bank, which, with its subsidiaries, has served Canadians for nearly a century.

As that family of brands grew, so did the complexity behind its digital presence. Four of its websites ran on different CMS platforms, including WordPress and Umbraco, each with its own architecture, tooling, and maintenance needs. That fragmentation made it harder to keep the sites consistent, secure, and efficient to support.

Fairstone wanted to bring all four sites onto a single Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) foundation without disrupting the experience customers already knew. Each brand had an established visual identity, its own content, and functionality customers relied on, so a redesign wasn't an option. At the same time, Fairstone wanted every site to come out of the migration faster, without losing ground on accessibility.

Fairstone turned to Oshyn to consolidate all four sites into AEM, preserving each brand's look and functionality while improving performance.

## The Solution

Fairstone selected Oshyn for its deep AEM expertise, experience migrating websites to modern DXPs, and focus on website accessibility. Oshyn stood out for its efficient approach to managing all four sites on a shared foundation of reusable components, providing consistency across sites while reducing unnecessary development and addressing site-specific requirements. Having worked with Fairstone on previous projects, the team also trusted Oshyn's professionalism, efficiency, and ability to deliver.

Oshyn began by analyzing all four sites to identify common patterns, shared requirements, and the components needed to support them. From that analysis, Oshyn defined a library of 19 reusable base components that serve as the foundation for every site, adding site-specific components only where a brand needed something the base library couldn't cover.

With that foundation in place, Oshyn migrated each site's content from its legacy CMS into AEM and adapted each brand's existing design and functionality, so customers would see the brands they already knew.

The team built performance improvements into the new AEM implementation from the start, while carrying each site's strong accessibility standards through the migration. Because every site draws from the same base components, the team avoided building each one independently, standardizing the work across brands while still leaving room for what made each one unique.

AEM Migration Unites Four Canadian Banking Brands on a Single Platform Without Disrupting the Customer Experience

## The Outcome

Oshyn consolidated all four of Fairstone's websites across multiple CMS platforms into a single AEM environment, while keeping each brand's look and functionality that its customers already knew.

The migration also delivered measurable performance gains, with Eden Park's PageSpeed Insights performance score rising from 85 to a perfect 100 and Fairstone Bank's rising from 87 to 99. Accessibility held strong through the move, with scores of 99 and 100, respectively.

Fairstone now has one scalable foundation for all four brands. New features and fixes can be built once and shared across sites, making every future enhancement faster and easier to deliver. For the Canadians who rely on these brands to manage a mortgage, a savings account, or a loan, the experience they recognize now runs on a stronger foundation built to keep improving.
